Athleta ambassadors Simone Biles and Allyson Felix Captivate At Met Gala

I have over 10 years of experience in the retail…
Since 1969, Gap has been synonymous with American style. When we learned this year’s #MetGala theme was “In America, a Lexicon of Fashion,” we jumped at the chance to express our storied history and define what it means to be in fashion today.
For us, American fashion means inclusive and optimistic style, designed for all. We’re honored to have stepped out on the red carpet with our Athleta ambassadors Simone Biles and Allyson Felix — to celebrate a year of breaking boundaries and culture-shifting conversation.
For the evening, our CEO, Sonia Syngal, donned an outfit inspired by Gap‘s iconic white shirt and effortless khakis — made in collaboration with the brand’s head of design, Jane Pattinson Devlin, and Brother Vellies designer and 15 Percent Pledge founder, Aurora James.
And because last night is about so much more than fashion, Athleta is also celebrating by donating $50,000 to The Power of She Fund to empower women and girls.
Check out how Sonia and our favorite changemakers showed up on the steps of the The Metropolitan Museum of Art for fashion’s biggest night. #MetInAmerica #CostumeInstitute
