Sneaker Law X Miami Law Presents: Case Study Competition

The University of Miami School of Law's Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law Graduate Program is excited to announce the second annual "The Art of the Sneaker Deal," a two-day case study competition and conference. Mark your calendars for this exciting event, as the Sneaker Law x Miami Law Case Study Competition will take place on Thursday, March 2nd and 3rd, 2023, followed by an invite-only post-event gathering. Don't miss this unique opportunity to explore the dynamic world of Sneaker Law and connect with industry professionals at the forefront of this rapidly growing field.

In spring 2021, Miami Law became the first U.S. law school to offer a week-long, full course in the emerging area of Sneaker Law. The course, provided through the school's LL.M. in Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law, covered various aspects of the $90 billion sneaker industry, including intellectual property law, sports law, and labor law. Building on the success of this innovative course, the EASL program launched the first-ever "The Art of the Sneaker Deal" case study competition and conference in 2022, in collaboration with Sneaker Law.

The annual case study competition invites law schools from across the nation to represent artists, designers, and brands on issues such as IP protection of sneakers, rights of publicity, licensing deals, and collaboration agreements. A panel of esteemed industry lawyers and business executives will judge the competition.

In addition to the competition, the conference will feature a full day of discussions on contemporary legal and business issues impacting the sneaker industry. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with a panel of legal and business industry experts who will delve into the cutting-edge business and legal challenges faced by the sneaker industry today.
