Alo Yoga Expands Its Footprint In UK with Second Store

Alo Yoga, a luxury activewear brand founded in Los Angeles, has expanded its presence in the UK with the opening of its second store in London. The new store is located at the junction of Neal Street and Earlham Street in Covent Garden and spans 5,000 square feet across three floors. This store, which prominently features Alo Yoga's "studio-to-street ethos," offers a wide range of products including activewear, loungewear, accessories, and wellness products.

Alo Yoga first entered the UK market last year with the opening of its inaugural store on King’s Road in London on November 17, 2023. The company, known for its luxurious yoga wear and high-end athleisure, has been rapidly expanding its footprint. Alongside the new store in Covent Garden, Alo Yoga has planned several additional openings.

Their third store is scheduled to open at 75 Brompton Road in September 2024, further establishing their presence in London. Furthermore, a flagship location on Regent Street is set to open in the summer of 2024, complete with a gym and wellness club catering to Alo's VIP customers.

The store openings are part of a broader international expansion strategy by Alo Yoga. Founded in 2007 by childhood friends Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge, Alo Yoga has grown substantially, enjoying a surge in popularity during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The brand saw a 32% increase in revenue in 2022, reaching over $1 billion in sales. With 43 store locations primarily in North America, Alo Yoga plans to open over 50 new stores, including its first European locations in Paris and London, by the end of 2024.

Alo Yoga's retail strategy emphasizes community and wellness, with stores designed to be "sanctuaries" that offer immersive experiences. These stores often feature built-in yoga studios and organic cafes, aligning with the brand's commitment to holistic health and well-being. The integration of such amenities aims to provide customers with an elevated and comprehensive shopping experience.

The establishment of Alo Yoga's second UK store in Covent Garden places it among other prominent sports and activewear retailers in the area, such as Lululemon’s new flagship and Hoka’s first standalone store in the UK. The Covent Garden location's opening, set against a backdrop of steady expansion, signifies Alo Yoga's dedication to embedding itself within prominent retail districts and among prestigious neighboring brands.
