EX NIHILO has made its most significant retail move yet on Paris’s Left Bank. The French niche fragrance house has opened a permanent boutique at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, one of the most iconic luxury destinations in Paris, located at 38 Rue de Sèvres in the 7th arrondissement.
A Permanent Home at Le Bon Marché
Le Bon Marché atrium Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, founded in 1852, is widely regarded as the world’s first modern department store and one of the most carefully curated luxury retail destinations, making it a natural and prestigious setting for EX NIHILO’s newest permanent space. The boutique is conceived as a full invitation into the world of the house, showcasing the brand’s latest olfactory creations alongside its distinctive savoir faire in a setting that reflects the elegance and precision the maison is known for.

The Osmologue at the Heart of the Experience
The centerpiece of the new boutique is the Osmologue, EX NIHILO’s proprietary personalization ritual and one of the most distinctive innovations in contemporary luxury perfumery. The Osmologue is a high precision fragrance blending system that allows customers to co create a fully personalized scent with the guidance of an in store expert, selecting from the house’s finest raw materials, including absolutes of Iris Pallida, Vanilla Bourbon, and Rose Centifolia, to enhance or transform an existing EX NIHILO creation. The result is a fully bespoke Signature fragrance, bottled and engraved with the customer’s initials, with all preferences stored in the house’s database for future re orders.
EX NIHILO and the Art of Personalized Perfumery
Founded in Paris in 2013 by Sylvie Loday, Olivier Royère, and Benoît Verdier, EX NIHILO was built on the conviction that true luxury lies in the personal. The Osmologue machine, originally designed by French designer Christophe Pillet, is a work of precision engineering and visual theater, with moving parts transporting liquids in real time as visitors watch their creation take shape before their eyes.
