Sweet Chemistry Labs, the evidence-based regenerative skincare brand merging cosmetic science with medicine, is entering retail for the first time with an exclusive distribution deal at VIOLET GREY. Beginning September 22, the full Sweet Chemistry collection will be available in-store and online at VioletGrey.com, marking the brand’s debut in luxury beauty retail following its successful direct-to-consumer launch in 2023.
The brand was founded in collaboration with Xylyx Bio, a biomedical technology company specializing in tissue engineering and organ rehabilitation. Together, they developed formulations powered by Matrikynes®, a patent-pending complex of bone-derived regenerative ECM peptides exclusive to Sweet Chemistry and designed to deliver clinically significant results in skin repair.
Co-founder and chemist Alec Batis of Sweet Chemistry Labs described the expansion as both professional and personal:
“This is a major milestone for Sweet Chemistry Labs as a brand—and for me personally as a founder. Our mission has always been clear: to create scientifically driven skincare with complete transparency and formulas that truly transform skin, and we’ve been successful thus far. Partnering with VIOLET GREY allows us to stay true to that mission while expanding our brand channels. VIOLET GREY has excelled in setting the standard for what performance skincare should be.”
Tracy Kline, Group President of VIOLET GREY, highlighted why the retailer selected the brand for exclusive distribution:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Sweet Chemistry exclusively to the shelves of VIOLET GREY. As with all products launched at VIOLET GREY, the Sweet Chemistry line was tested by the VIOLET GREY Committee of industry experts and received the coveted Violet Code Approved (VCA) seal. The groundbreaking technology behind this brand, said to have been impossible by some experts, is rooted in its exclusive ingredient that is clinically proven to support tissue regeneration and repair. It’s nothing we have seen before and know our community of discerning clients will be eager to experience.”
The retail launch will feature all four products in the Sweet Chemistry portfolio. This includes the Max Repair System introduced in 2023—comprised of the Elasticity Reinforcing Lipid Cream and the Reparative Oil-Serum Infusion—alongside the new Hydra Series launching this year with the Elasticity Reinforcing Hydra-Cream and Barrier Repairing Hydra-Serum. Designed as a modular skincare system, each formula delivers hydration, nourishment, and targeted actives that can be used individually or layered together to address evolving skin needs.
Sweet Chemistry Labs’s arrival at VIOLET GREY underscores the growing demand for science-driven, regenerative formulations in the luxury skincare space, while setting a new precedent for performance and transparency in prestige beauty retail.
