The launch of the 'Preowned Luxury' category comes as no surprise, given the growing popularity of sustainable fashion and the #prelovedfashion hashtag, which has already generated over 62,000 creations on the platform. TikTok's global community of fashion creators, brands, and fans have long been championing sustainable fashion, and this new category provides an accessible way for users to embrace luxury fashion while minimizing their environmental impact.

To bring this new category to life, TikTok Shop has partnered with five online luxury resellers: Luxe Collective, Sellier Knightsbridge, Sign of the Times, HardlyEverWornIt, and Break Archive. These brands have already found success on the platform, boasting impressive followings and engagement rates.

Luxe Collective, for example, was founded by two brothers who built their business after amassing a huge following on TikTok for their content featuring designer items and news. With 1.6 million followers on the platform, Luxe Collective recently secured a £100K investment from Steven Bartlett on Dragon's Den.
