The world’s biggest product pitch competition, CoCreate Pitch, is drawing attention to major shifts in entrepreneurship, with more than 20,000 entries highlighting trends in AI, women-led startups, and sustainable business.
AI becomes essential for startups
Entrepreneurs are increasingly relying on artificial intelligence to power their businesses, with 63.5% of submissions planning to leverage AI or machine learning, and over 400 projects directly addressing real-world needs through technologies such as speech and image recognition.
Women and green innovation lead new trends
Women-focused products and sustainability solutions are surging. A full 32.7% of entries center on female consumers and needs like beauty, fashion accessories, and women’s health. According to the 2023/24 Global Women’s Entrepreneurship Report, female-owned businesses in the U.S. rose 39%, nearly double the growth rate of male-owned businesses, with similar surges in Europe. Sustainability also drives innovation, with 36.1% of pitches targeting renewable energy, waste management, and eco-friendly design.
Niche products and social purpose redefine success
This year’s applicants are prioritizing underserved, specialized markets—33.9% target niche audiences, including plus-size fashion, sensory-friendly goods, and solutions for mobility-challenged users. Among Gen Z founders, 33.6% started their ventures to address societal issues, and 29.5% focus on social value instead of pure profit.
Influencers become product innovators
A strong presence of social media-savvy creators is shaping the contestant pool. Entrepreneurs with large online followings are translating digital influence into unique products, merging content creation with commerce.
