eBay and Condé Nast have announced a multi-year partnership designed to propel pre-loved and circular fashion into the mainstream during a period of unprecedented growth for the resale sector. This collaboration establishes eBay as the official Pre-Loved Partner of Condé Nast, fusing the powerhouse’s editorial and cultural reach with eBay’s three-decade leadership in the pre-loved marketplace.
“We are thrilled to evolve our partnership with eBay and champion the pre-loved fashion movement. This collaboration reflects our shared vision to inspire a new generation to embrace vintage and pre-loved as a defining expression of personal style. Together, we will tell compelling stories that celebrate fashion’s rich history while empowering our audiences to discover and shop authenticated treasures on eBay,” said Doug Grinspan, Chief Business Officer, US Sales & Global Key Accounts, Condé Nast.
Global secondhand apparel sales are projected to surpass $230 billion in 2025, with forecasts suggesting the market could reach up to $360 billion by 2030, more than tripling the growth rate of traditional fashion retail. The broader secondhand product market (apparel, furniture, and more) is valued at $479 billion for 2025, on track for sustained double-digit growth.
Partnership Details and Platform Integration
The initiative will span Condé Nast’s most influential titles—Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, Wired, Architectural Digest, Teen Vogue, and Glamour—across the U.S., UK, and Germany, aiming to mainstream pre-loved fashion, inspire new generations of conscious shoppers, and expand access to authenticated, trusted resale fashion finds. This announcement builds on impactful collaborations, including three consecutive Met Galas, Vogue World events in Paris, Hollywood, and London, and the award-winning eBay x Twiggy campaign during Vogue World London 2023, which brought home the first-ever Luxury and Lifestyle Cannes Lions award.
Reshaping Circular Fashion Narratives
“By partnering with Condé Nast, we’re reshaping circular fashion. By leveraging a historic influence on the fashion industry, and eBay’s selection and trusted marketplace, we are placing pre-loved at the epicenter of the fashion conversation, making it both sustainable and aspirational,” said Alexis Hoopes, Vice President, Global Fashion, eBay.
Expanding the Reach and Influence of Pre-Loved
“eBay offers an unparalleled selection of pre-loved fashion, making it easy for shoppers to uncover extraordinary pieces with rich stories and unique provenances. Condé Nast shares this passion for pre-loved and vintage, and its power to inspire more mindful, sustainable style. With this partnership, we’re championing a more circular fashion future,” said Emily O’Hara, Vice President, Global Brand Marketing, eBay.
Future Outlook
Today, resale represents over 10% of global fashion sales, with Gen Z and millennial consumers driving demand for affordability, sustainability, and unique style. Over 70% of shoppers now report purchasing secondhand goods as eco-mindedness converges with digital innovation and elevated brand experiences. With this deal, eBay and Condé Nast plan to integrate across major cultural moments and expand storytelling well beyond fashion and luxury, positioning both names at the center of global sustainable commerce innovation
