Initially launched on September 12, The Power Drop marks her official re-entry into the luxury footwear space. Arriving in the middle of New York Fashion Week and as Hollywood’s red carpets heat up, the collection leans hard into bold metallics and statement silhouettes that demand attention. “When a woman puts on these shoes, I want her to feel unstoppable, like every step announces her arrival,” Rich tells Retailboss.
Rich’s return comes after her blockbuster 2024 collaboration with Steve Madden, which introduced her aesthetic to a wider audience but also pushed her to reconsider her path.
“After taking a year away from designing, I wanted to return with something powerful,” she says. “This is my first full collection since the Steve Madden collaboration — and The Power Drop is that moment.” More than a collection, Rich frames it as a philosophy: “Fashion is evolving. It’s not all about seasons anymore, it’s about moments. I wanted every shoe to feel like a moment, not just something you happen to have in your closet.”

While Rich’s shoes are synonymous with high glamour, she emphasizes that versatility and wearability are at the heart of her process. “Versatility is non-negotiable for me. Nothing in my collection is overly seasonal, because I design with both warm and cooler climates in mind,” she explains. “Even though my heels look high, we engineer the inside with an extra layer of padding so they’re more comfortable than most insoles.” It’s a detail-driven approach that reflects her view of luxury: beautiful design that adapts to the lives of real women — from day to night, city to city.
In a world of oversaturated fashion calendars, Rich is rewriting the rhythm. Instead of unveiling everything at once, The Power Drop will release one style per week.
“When I first launched Jessica Rich, I designed one shoe a month to test the market, and I loved that pace,” she says. “Every drop is fashion, but it’s also a strategy. It almost feels like releasing chapters in a story — and when women collect these drops, they’re collecting those chapters.”
It’s a model that builds excitement and scarcity, giving each style its own spotlight.
Among the chapters, Rich’s favorite is clear: The Empire Boot.
“It was unexpected, because I don’t usually create boots,” she admits. “But this one just felt like me. The Empire Boot feels almost like a legging with a heel — sleek, effortless, and powerful without being over-the-top.” Minimalist yet commanding, it represents the quiet confidence Rich herself embodies at this stage of her career.
Ask Rich what luxury means today, and her answer is refreshingly grounded:
“Luxury doesn’t always have to mean the most expensive thing. For me, luxury is simply having the choice to live the way you want,” she says. For her brand, luxury lives in the details — the feel of a curve, the balance of a heel, the way confidence shifts when a woman steps into her shoes. But it also lives in evolution, “I’m not only designing shoes,” she adds, “I’m really building a business that is helping define what modern luxury looks like.”

With The Power Drop, Jessica Rich is proving that a year away has sharpened her edge. The collection is about reclaiming her narrative, one drop at a time. And if this relaunch is any indication, Jessica Rich isn’t just back. She’s building something bigger — a global brand rooted in culture, media, and lifestyle. “This,” she says, “is only the beginning.”
