Amid mounting controversy and a social media firestorm, Sephora is at the center of breaking news speculation regarding its partnership with Huda Beauty after founder Huda Kattan’s explosive accusations linking Israel to several historic global events.

The now-deleted TikTok video sparked immediate backlash from Jewish groups, human rights advocates, and a flurry of activist petitions demanding the global beauty retailer sever all ties with Huda Beauty.

Kattan clarified that she personally deleted the controversial post because her words were “taken out of context” and she did not want the narrative to continue fueling divisiveness.

Huda Beauty and Huda Kattan openly call the backlash a “smear campaign” designed to discredit her for supporting Palestinian rights and criticizing Israeli government actions.

She affirms her commitment to opposing all forms of hate, saying, “I never said anything about Jews or even Israeli people. And honestly, I would never talk about any people because I stand against hate and discrimination”

Kattan and her company remain vocal in support of humanitarian aid to Gaza and denounce the misrepresentation of their statements as antisemitism.

Sephora Drops Huda Beauty Rumors

Despite swirling speculation and growing activist pressure, Sephora has not released any statement confirming that it has dropped Huda Beauty. Instead, the company continues to review its relationship with the brand and deliberate internally. All signs point to an imminent decision, but as of this hour, Huda Beauty remains a part of the Sephora lineup.

Sephora Response

Sephora’s only public statement so far was on August 7th: “Sephora is committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive shopping environment for everyone. We acknowledge that remarks from one of our brand partners have raised concerns, and want to clarify: endorsing hate, harassment, or misinformation is not in line with our principles or code of conduct.”

The company confirmed that they are actively reviewing the situation internally with Huda Beauty, but refrained from committing to any specific action

What Comes Next?

As of today, the partnership between Sephora and Huda Beauty remains intact, pending further review by Sephora, following widespread media scrutiny and public backlash.

The beauty industry and activist groups are watching closely. The coming days may see a formal announcement, but until then, the partnership is intact—with all eyes on Sephora as shoppers wait for a definitive response to the controversy.
