OneOff, is a innovative AI-powered fashion app promising to redefine how style discovery happens in the digital age. Fueled by emerging technology, social influence, and a passion for personalized shopping, OneOff empowers users to shop looks seen on celebrities and influencers in a single, seamless platform.

The Concept: Celebrities, AI, and Effortless Discovery

At its core, OneOff is designed as an AI-driven system where users shop the real-life outfits of celebrities, top trendsetters, and even their own social circles. Co-founder Emir Talu and Maylack identified how dramatically shopping habits have shifted, from in-store exploration and magazine clippings to endless scrolling on TikTok or Instagram and laborious web searches for exact outfit matches.

OneOff tackles a real pain point: finding that look worn by a celebrity or influencer. Traditional methods, screenshotting, Pinterest hunting, and crawling fan account tags, are cumbersome. OneOff eliminates that friction: upload an image of the style you crave, or select your favorite tastemaker, and the AI engine instantly surfaces visually matched, purchasable options drawn from a deep retail database.

How OneOff Works?

The platform’s magic is a mix of AI and expert oversight. Users can describe their desired look—such as find me an outfit like Hailey Bieber wore to Coachella—and receive curated suggestions, complete with clickable product links, context about the stylist, and price transparency.

OneOff stands out because it pairs powerful language and vision algorithms with human stylists who refine selections, ensuring style quality and relevance for each taste profile. The engineering team built multiple AI agents: one scrapes public data on what celebrities wear, linking to retail partners like Farfetch and Mytheresa; another assists product tagging and coding; a third syncs live inventory. “The more AI we built in-house, the greater our processing and computing needs became,” he said. “So we developed multiple AI agents, one for data aggregation and scraping, tracking what celebrities wear publicly and linking those items to retail partners; another that assists with coding; and one that keeps inventory synced across retailers like Farfetch and Mytheresa. By leveraging these agents, our engineering team now delivers three to four times the output we had before AI.”

Launch Details and Features

After early beta testing, OneOff went live on iOS this month, headquartered in Los Angeles. The initial app allows users to:

  • Upload a celebrity or influencer pic and get shoppable matches in seconds.
  • Follow curated taste profiles from pre-populated creators, including stylist Dani Michelle and Unwell’s Alex Cooper.
  • Build a discovery feed based on real-time trending searches and tastemaker approvals.

OneOff’s fashion approach on Spotify appeals to Gen Z and Millennials who value peer influence over brand marketing. As the app rolls out broader support, users can expect new creators to be added weekly, based on user demand and live search trends.

The Founders and Their Vision

Bobby Maylack and Emir Talu founded OneOff to align with how the next generation finds fashion inspiration: Gen Z cares more about what their favourite celebrities and creators are wearing than any one brand. Their team, including alumni from Pinterest, is building a platform that reflects shifting consumer expectations for both personalization and speed.

Looking Ahead

With its early community already active and frequent updates promised, OneOff aims to keep expanding its style database and retail integrations. Upcoming plans include:

  • Launch on Android and web platforms
  • Partnerships with additional premium retailers and more diverse creator rosters
  • Enhanced AI for mood-based, occasion-driven, and sustainable fashion search

Industry analysts suggest that OneOff’s formula of taste-based discovery combined with AI curation will only accelerate, creating new affiliate opportunities for creators and next-level shopping experiences for consumers.
