Sk*p Launches Exclusively at Ulta Beauty Stores

Sk*p, a sustainable hair and body care brand, has recently announced an exclusive retail partnership with Ulta Beauty. The brand, known for its eco-friendly packaging and non-toxic formulas, will now be available on Ulta.com and in more than 700 Ulta Beauty stores across the nation. The full expansion into all 1,300 Ulta Beauty locations is set to roll out in Q3 of 2022.

Ulta Beauty, a leading beauty retailer, offers over 25,000 products from more than 600 established and emerging brands, including their private label, Ulta Beauty Collection. The company also operates a salon in every store, providing guests with a range of beauty services. Sk*p's partnership with Ulta Beauty aligns with the retailer's Conscious Beauty initiative, which aims to deliver transparency and promote sustainable practices within the beauty industry.

Sk*p, which stands for Simply be Kind to our Planet, will also be included in SPARKED, a curated assortment of emerging beauty brands entering retail for the first time. This launch makes Ulta Beauty the first retailer to offer guests hair and body care products packaged in the fully recyclable paper BeautyCarton. Sk*p's products are made without synthetic fragrance or dyes, silicones, sulfates, PEGS, parabens, phthalates, or heavy metals and feature a proprietary key ingredient called G-HoneyBiome, a bio-fermented honey complex that strengthens and balances microorganisms on the skin and scalp for a healthy microbiome.

The beauty industry currently contributes over 80 billion pieces of plastic waste to landfills and waterways each year, with more than 500 million of those pieces being thick plastic shampoo bottles. Sk*p's paper-based BeautyCartons are not only shower-friendly but also made of over 81% FSC-certified paper, free of harmful chemicals (no BPA or VOC), and lightweight, resulting in a much smaller carbon footprint than traditional plastic shampoo bottles. According to Mark Veeder, CEO and co-founder of sk*p, if only 5% of plastic shampoo bottles were replaced with sk*p cartons, there would be approximately 27.5 million fewer plastic bottles polluting our environment annually.

This partnership between Sk*p and Ulta Beauty signifies a significant step towards promoting sustainability and reducing plastic waste within the beauty industry. As more brands and retailers adopt eco-friendly practices, consumers can expect to see a positive impact on the environment and a shift towards a greener future.
