Waterdrop Launches Into U.s. With 3,000 Stores

This Spring, the waterdrop® brand—the most rapidly expanding hydration company in Europe—will expand its brick-and-mortar presence throughout the United States. Its goal is to inspire people to drink more water. With this growth, the company will be able to provide its main products, notably the "Microdrinks" product category it invented and popularised, to American consumers nationwide through important U.S. retail partners. Starting on April 3rd, 2,051 Walmart shops will sell waterdrop® in addition to a few Target and HEB locations starting on March 26 and March 20, respectively.

After raising $70M in its Series B last winter, waterdrop® will soon be on thousands of the largest store shelves. A year ago, the well-known European brand was primarily sold DTC in the American market, with little local retail presence. With its expansion to Walmart, Target, and HEB, the well-known hydration brand will be available on shelves in more than 3,000 doors nationwide starting on April 3.

The new 3-packs from waterdrop®, which include the Microdrink vitamin hydration cubes and the Microenergy caffeine hydration cubes, will be sold by Walmart as the first U.S. retailer, both in-store and online. Along with being available on shelves, waterdrop® will also have its 3-packs on a 60-day feature display with different Microdrink flavours and Microlyte electrolyte hydration cubes. Walmart will be the first retailer to sell the brand's steel and glass bottles, which are built of superior, leak-proof materials for a stylish and long-lasting design, alongside with the Microdrinks.

Over the remainder of 2023, waterdrop® intends to keep concentrating on retailer and distributor expansion. This will involve reaching out to markets that have not been penetrated yet in the United States, including convenience, food service, supermarket clubs, and others. The business is eager to expand its present alliances while steadily bringing on new ones and elevating hydration to a new level.
