Zeekit is a pioneering virtual fitting room technology and mobile app that lets users try on clothing online or in store, merging real-world shopping with digital innovation. By leveraging augmented reality, deep learning, and real-time image processing, Zeekit lets customers visualize how an outfit will look on their own bodies—or on models that match their measurements—before making a purchase. Headquartered in Tel Aviv and New York, Zeekit is now globally recognized as the core virtual try-on platform for Walmart and multiple fashion industry leaders.

Zeekit utilizes augmented reality to offer an interactive online shopping experience, allowing shoppers to visualize how an item will look on various body types.

How Does It Work?

  • AI & AR-Powered Visualization: Shoppers upload a full-body image or select a diverse set of models representing different heights, shapes, and skin tones, and instantly try on any item in the catalog on their real or selected figure.
  • Choose My Model: Through Walmart.com and the Walmart app, users can find the best match from over 50 models, making size, fit, and confidence in style easier and more inclusive than ever.
  • Social Integration: The app allows sharing digital outfits for peer input and comparison, making shopping collaborative, fun, and community-centric.
  • Retailer & Brand Plug-In: Zeekit’s engine integrates with partners like Adidas, Levi’s, Hanes, Macy’s, ASOS, Tommy Hilfiger, Rebecca Minkoff, and more, so the virtual fitting experience extends far beyond Walmart.

At Rebecca Minkoff, the integration of technology and style is paramount. Our partnership with Zeekit developed very organically and was a prime example of the best kind of integration. To be able to virtually try on a garment gives customers a chance to access the feel of our product with immediacy – technology like that is made for the millennial consumer, said Uri Minkoff, CEO, Rebecca Minkoff

Origin Story & Founders

Zeekit was founded by Yael Vizel (CEO), Alon Kristal (CTO), and Nir Appleboim (VP R&D), blending backgrounds in electrical engineering, computer vision, and military image-processing. Inspired by the challenge of virtually assembling complex visual data, the founders sought to create a solution that would eliminate the uncertainty—and high returns—of online and omnichannel fashion.

Yael Vizel, a Technion alumna and one of Israel’s leading technology innovators, was listed among Israel’s 50 Power Women by Forbes in 2019. Zeekit grew from its Tel Aviv roots to become a vital technology provider for brands worldwide before its acquisition by Walmart.

How Much Has Zeekit Raised to Date?

  • Total Raised: Over $16 million from 2014 to 2021 across five rounds.
  • 2016 Series A: $9 million led by US and Israeli VCs.
  • Acquisition: Walmart acquired Zeekit in May 2021 for an undisclosed sum, cementing its strategic role as Walmart’s fashion tech engine.
