Revenue Jumps Over 22% Led by Direct-to-Consumer Growth
Canada Goose reported a revenue increase of 22.4% to $107.8 million for the quarter ended June 29, 2025. On a constant currency basis, revenue climbed 21.5%, reflecting “broad-based growth.”
Dani Reiss, Chairman & CEO of Canada Goose, stated,
“We’re off to a strong start, brand heat is rising, and our DTC performance is delivering. We’re executing with precision, from bold storytelling to smarter retail moves, and it’s showing up in results. I’m optimistic about the momentum we continue to see as we deliver more relevant products and run a tighter, more focused business.”
Direct-to-consumer (DTC) revenue rose 23.8% to $78.1 million, with comparable sales up 14.8%. This growth is attributed to both higher online sales and new store openings. Wholesale revenue also increased by 11.9% to $17.9 million. Revenue from other channels, including events and partnerships, grew 31.1% to $11.8 million, emphasizing Canada Goose’s successful multi-channel and experiential approach.
New Collections and Campaigns Drive Brand Relevance
The company launched the Spring-Summer 2025 collection with a campaign introducing new designs while remaining rooted in Canada Goose tradition. Apparel was the fastest-growing product category, driven by effective product innovation and marketing.
Another highlight was the launch of the second Snow Goose capsule, supported by a campaign set in Utah’s desert and featuring models and influencers such as Lara Stone. The company highlighted this campaign as a driver of strong “360-degree marketing” and deep consumer engagement.
Retail Expansion and Elevated In-Store Experience
During Q1, Canada Goose converted two temporary stores to permanent locations, bringing its total permanent store count to 76. The recently renovated Amsterdam flagship now features an elevated design concept, including statement ceiling artwork and a VIP space, offering a more luxurious experience for in-store shoppers.
Sustainable Impact and Environmental Progress
Canada Goose released its Fiscal Year 2025 Impact Report during the quarter, reporting significant strides in environmental sustainability:
- 9% reduction in Scope 1 emissions (direct operations)
- 25% reduction in Scope 3 emissions (supply chain), year-over-year
- Investment in 10 renewable energy projects to offset 100% of Scope 2 emissions for fiscal 2025
These achievements are “central to the company’s growth strategy and brand promise.” The company reiterated its commitment to ongoing sustainability progress.
Financial Performance and Profitability Metrics
- Gross profit increased 25.9% to $66.2 million, yielding a gross margin of 61.4%, compared to 59.7% a year earlier. The increase was mainly attributed to higher-margin contributions from the European knitwear facility.
- Operating loss was $(158.7) million—widened mainly by a one-time $43.8 million arbitration award, along with investments in retail expansion, marketing, and product development.
- Net loss attributable to shareholders was $(125.2) million, or $(1.29) per basic and diluted share.
- Adjusted EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes) came in at $(106.4) million.
Inventory at quarter’s end was $439.5 million, down 9% year-over-year, indicating improved demand dynamics and inventory management.
Net debt was significantly lower year-over-year—$541.7 million compared to $765.9 million in Q1 2025—driven by “higher cash balances and limited borrowings” through disciplined working capital management.
Looking Forward
Canada Goose’s Q1 fiscal 2026 results spotlight a brand on the rise, fueled by innovative products, bold marketing, and assertive operational management. Despite a higher operating loss, the company’s key fundamentals and demand indicators remain strong, with healthy momentum in major categories and markets.
Dani Reiss summed up Canada Goose’s optimism and trajectory:
“I’m optimistic about the momentum we continue to see as we deliver more relevant products and run a tighter, more focused business.”
With a sharpened focus on expanding both its luxury offering and environmental commitments, Canada Goose is positioned for continued growth, honoring its Canadian roots while pushing boundaries in the global outerwear and fashion market.
