Nordstrom and ASOS British Fast Fashion Brand Launch Joint Venture

ASOS, a leading British fast fashion brand, has expanded its presence by partnering with Nordstrom, a renowned American retailer. Known for its online platform, www.asos.com, ASOS offers a wide range of products from over 850 brands, including its own house brand, Topman, and Weekday. The company operates in various countries such as the UK, the US, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, Russia, and Italy.

In July 2021, ASOS made a significant move by selling Topshop apparel at Nordstrom stores, following its acquisition of the Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge, and HIIT brands from Sir Philip Green's Arcadia. Nordstrom acquired a minority interest in these brands to help drive their growth and establish a wider strategic partnership.

The collaboration between ASOS and Nordstrom began with the Seattle-based retailer carrying a vast selection of ASOS products online since November 2021. After testing a physical selling model through pop-ups at several Nordstrom store locations, the department store committed to carrying ASOS products physically.

As of May 20, 2022, ASOS merchandise is available in real life (IRL) at select Nordstrom stores across 10 markets, including New York City, Los Angeles, Bellevue, Chicago, Dallas, Aventura, Scottsdale, Brea, and San Diego.

A co-branded 'ASOS X Nordstrom' space at The Grove Nordstrom in LA showcases the new in-person offerings, featuring a unique curation of merchandise from different brands such as WAYF, Levi's Denim remake, and vintage partners. Nordstrom offers over 650 styles, most priced under $100 and available in sizes ranging from 00-26.

Nordstrom aims to bridge the digital and physical retail gap by creating a "young adult incubator" that includes flexible content creation spaces, exclusive services offered by influencers and brands, ear piercing, and more. The retailer also focuses on environmental sustainability and circularity by providing clothing donation, BeautyCycle, clothing repair, and sneaker cleaning services for customers.

This partnership between ASOS and Nordstrom marks a significant milestone for both companies, as they work together to enhance the shopping experience for fashion-conscious consumers while promoting sustainable practices.
