A class action lawsuit in Canada claims Boohoo, PrettyLittleThing, and Nasty Gal misled shoppers with deceptive sales pricing.

The law firm, Slater Vecchio LLP has filed a class action lawsuit in British Columbia and Quebec, alleging that Boohoo, PrettyLittleThing, and Nasty Gal deceived Canadian consumers by advertising fashion products at “discounted” prices that were rarely, if ever, the actual regular price. The suit claims these brands almost always sold items at the so-called “discount” price, making the “regular” price misleading.

“Boohoo, PrettyLittleThing and Nasty Gal rarely, if ever, offer these products for sale at their ‘regular price’ and instead always, or almost always, offer them for sale at a so-called discount price well below the alleged regular price,”
Slater Vecchio LLP said.

As a result, customers may have received less value than promised, believing they were getting a special deal when they were not.

What Is a Class Action?

A class action is a legal case where one person represents a group with similar claims. If the court approves, a “Representative Plaintiff” acts for all class members, allowing common issues to be resolved in one proceeding instead of many individual lawsuits.

Who Is Included in the Class?

The proposed class covers all individuals and legal entities in Canada who bought fashion products from Boohoo, PrettyLittleThing, or Nasty Gal at a “discount price” lower than the advertised regular price.

How to Get Involved

If you purchased from Boohoo, PrettyLittleThing, or Nasty Gal at a discounted price, Slater Vecchio LLP invites you to submit your information through their website.

Looking Forward

This Canadian lawsuit follows similar actions in the U.S., where Boohoo and its brands have faced settlements over alleged “fake discounts.” These cases reflect growing scrutiny of inflated reference prices and sales tactics in online fashion. The class action against Boohoo, PrettyLittleThing, and Nasty Gal highlights ongoing concerns about transparency in online pricing.
