Ralph Lauren Corporation (NYSE: RL), a global leader in luxury lifestyle products for nearly 60 years, has announced the next phase of its Global Citizenship and Sustainability strategy, titled Timeless by Design 2030. The strategy builds on the company’s meaningful progress over the past several years and sets a focused, measurable roadmap for driving positive impact across its operations, supply chain, and communities through 2030.
Building on a Strong Foundation
Before looking forward, it is worth noting what Ralph Lauren has already achieved. Prior to the launch of Timeless by Design 2030, the company reduced its greenhouse gas emissions, decreased total water use, and met at least one sustainable material criterion in 99% of units produced. Those baselines form the foundation from which the new strategy accelerates.
Katie Ioanilli, Chief Global Impact and Communications Officer at Ralph Lauren Corporation, said, “By investing in the resilience of the people who shape our business, the communities we serve and the resources that make our products possible, we are reinforcing the long term strength and durability of Ralph Lauren. Aligned to Ralph’s timeless vision that inspires everything we do, this work is enduring and foundational to operating a business that stands the test of time.”
Four Pillars, Four Flagship Programs
Timeless by Design 2030 is structured around four pillars, each anchored by a distinct flagship program that reflects where Ralph Lauren believes it can make its most meaningful and unique contribution:
- Partner for Impact: Focused on reducing carbon emissions, cutting water use, and expanding empowerment programs for supply chain workers. The flagship program is Design with Intent, the company’s industry leading work to integrate culturally sustainable design into product and storytelling
- Protect Natural Resources: Addresses climate and nature related impacts through circular product design, consumer facing circular experiences, and investment in innovative materials. The flagship program is Cotton Stewardship, accelerating the shift toward regenerative and recycled cotton, reflecting the fact that cotton is Ralph Lauren‘s primary material
- Engage and Enable Teams: Centers on employee growth, development, and a culture of belonging designed to attract and retain top talent. The flagship program is Only at RL, which encompasses the distinctive employee experience at Ralph Lauren and how team members build long term careers within the company
- Care for Communities: Advances employee volunteering, philanthropic giving, and strategic community partnerships. The flagship program is Pink Pony, Ralph Lauren‘s long running global initiative in the fight against cancer
Pink Pony Gets a New Home in Chicago
The Care for Communities pillar is already delivering news of its own. The Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation has awarded a grant to the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center to establish the UChicago Medicine Ralph Lauren Center, the fourth Ralph Lauren Center in the United States. The announcement builds on the Foundation’s commitment to expand or open five cancer centers across America, enhancing access to high quality cancer screening, comprehensive care, and support services for communities in Chicago and beyond.
Measured Annually, Reported Transparently
Ralph Lauren has committed to measuring and reporting progress against Timeless by Design 2030 annually, aligned to the company’s fiscal year, with the full strategy and its goals published on the corporate website. That accountability structure is central to the strategy’s credibility, moving it beyond aspirational language and into a framework where progress, or the lack of it, will be visible to investors, partners, and consumers alike.
For a brand whose entire identity is built on the idea of timelessness, treating sustainability as an enduring, foundational operating discipline rather than a marketing exercise is entirely consistent with its purpose.
