Dior Has Postponed 'Indefinitely' Travis Scott's Collection

Dior announced its plan to “indefinitely” postpone the launch of its Cactus Jack collection after Astroworld tragedy. In the wake of the disaster, French fashion house Christian Dior decided to indefinitely postpone its highly anticipated collaborative capsule collection with Travis Scott's brand, Cactus Jack. This marked the first time Dior had partnered with a musician for a full collection, which was initially set to launch in 2022.

The collaboration between Travis Scott and Dior was unveiled during Paris Fashion Week in June 2021, garnering much excitement from fans. However, after the Astroworld tragedy, which resulted in the deaths of 10 people and numerous injuries, Dior announced the postponement of the collection out of respect for those affected by the incident. The decision to delay the launch was reportedly mutual between Dior and Travis Scott.

In addition to Dior, other brands such as Nike also distanced themselves from the rapper. Nike postponed the launch of their sneaker collaboration with Scott's Cactus Jack label, citing respect for those impacted by the Astroworld Festival. Despite these setbacks, Travis Scott has been gradually making a comeback, with plans to release his fourth studio album, "Utopia," in June 2023.

According to sources, the decision was mutual between Travis Scott and the Dior team to not go forward with the S/S collection promotion, originally planned for January 2022.

In the statement, Dior said: “Out of respect for everyone affected by the tragic events at Astroworld, Dior has decided to postpone indefinitely the launch of products from the Cactus Jack collaboration originally intended to be included in its summer 2022 collection.”

The indefinite postponement serves as a reminder of the lasting impact of the Astroworld tragedy on the rapper's career and partnerships with global brands.
