Andersson Bell has opened its second space in China at MIXC WORLD in Shenzhen, unveiling a SLOW POP UP built around the concept of “Flowing Order” where cold structure, warm texture, vintage attitude and refined modernity are held in a carefully tuned balance.
A Second China Space At MIXC WORLD
The new ADSB SHENZHEN SPACE is located at SHENZHEN MIXC WORLD, 1F SL121, No. 9668 Shennan Boulevard, Nanshan District, one of the city’s key high end retail and culture hubs. Framed as a SLOW POP UP rather than a standard store opening, the project extends Andersson Bell’s presence in China and gives the brand a flexible platform to showcase seasonal collections and collaborations in a more experimental way.
This is the brand’s second physical space in China, following its earlier footprint and signalling a growing focus on the mainland market.
Flowing Order As Design Principle
The Shenzhen space is “built upon the idea of Flowing Order,” a concept that brings together elements that might not seem to match at first glance but settle into a natural equilibrium when experienced as a whole. In practice, that means:
- Cold architectural surfaces – concrete, metal and clean structural lines.
- Emotional, tactile details – soft finishes, textiles and handcrafted touches.
- A dialogue between vintage street sensibilities and refined contemporary design.
The result is a space where tension and softness coexist, echoing the brand’s fashion language, which fuses Seoul street culture with Scandinavian minimalism.
More Than A Store
In its own description, Andersson Bell stresses that ADSB SHENZHEN SPACE is “more than a store,” positioning it as a place where visitors can directly experience different moods and sensibilities, not just browse racks.
This aligns with the brand’s broader move toward spatial storytelling: each physical location is treated as an extension of the collection narrative, with interiors evolving over time to reflect new themes and capsules rather than remaining static. For Shenzhen, the focus is on contrast and “unexpected beauty,” inviting customers to slow down and notice how opposites play off each other in both clothes and architecture.
Andersson Bell’s Evolving Spatial Language
Launched in Seoul in 2014, Andersson Bell is known for merging Korean street culture with Scandinavian minimalism, reworking everyday pieces through an off beat, elevated lens. Recent brand communications highlight an “evolving spatial language,” where stores and pop ups become laboratories for that hybrid identity, using materials, forms and layouts to make the contrast visible.
In Shenzhen, this means a slow, considered retail environment inside one of the city’s busiest malls, offering a counterpoint to high speed commercial energy outside MIXC WORLD’s doors and giving the brand a distinctive, design forward presence in the Greater Bay Area.
An Ongoing Exploration Of Contrast
Ultimately, the new Shenzhen space feels like a physical manifesto for Andersson Bell’s ongoing exploration of contrast and unexpected beauty. Cold and warm, vintage and modern, structure and softness all of these pairings have been part of the label’s design language for years. Here, they are simply being played out at architectural scale.
For visitors, that means the store can be read on multiple levels: as a place to shop, as a piece of interior design, and as a quiet commentary on how fashion spaces can move at a slower, more reflective pace even in some of Asia’s fastest moving cities.
