Dr. Groot brings Korean scalp care to Sephora as US beauty expansion grows

Dr. Groot is set to enter Sephora, giving the Korean scalp care brand a bigger platform in the U.S prestige beauty market on April 1, with in store rollout beginning May 15 and expanding to most Sephora locations nationwide through 2026.

A Major Prestige Retail Step

The launch marks Dr. Groot’s first national prestige retail rollout in the United States. James Yoo, Marketing Director at Dr. Groot, said, “Launching at Sephora is an incredibly meaningful step for Dr. Groot,” said James Yoo, Dr. Groot Marketing Director. “The launch will mark the brand’s first national prestige retail rollout. Sephora has long been a destination for beauty lovers seeking innovation and performance. We’re excited to introduce our approach to hair and scalp care to customers who value both efficacy and experience.”

Scalp Care Is the Core Pitch

Dr. Groot said its formulas use advanced microbiome technology to target scalp health and address the root causes of hair loss and thinning. The brand is positioning that message as part of the next phase of K-beauty haircare, where treatment led products continue to draw attention from ingredient-focused shoppers.

The push also reflects a broader shift in beauty, where consumers increasingly see scalp care as part of a full hair wellness routine rather than a separate category. That framing gives Dr. Groot a clear story to tell as it enters a competitive prestige market.

The Products Leading the Launch

The initial assortment includes the Scalp Revitalizing Solution Hair Thickening Shampoo and the Scalp Revitalizing Solution Miracle In-Shower Treatment. According to the press release, the duo was clinically tested to help reduce hair loss due to breakage, based on a two-week clinical test of 24 subjects.

The formulas feature biotin, rosemary, and caffeine, while arginine, panthenol, niacinamide, and salicylic acid are used to nourish and revitalize the scalp and hair in as little as five seconds. On its official site, Dr. Groot also says it is the #1 Korean hair care brand for hair thickening and has sold over 40 million units worldwide.

LG H&H Backs the Growth Story

Dr. Groot is backed by 50+ years of research and has sold over 50 million units. LG H&H, founded in South Korea in 1947, is expanding in North America, adding more context to why this Sephora move matters now.

For Dr. Groot, the Sephora debut is not just a retail listing. It is a chance to bring a scalp first Korean haircare brand to a wider US audience at a time when prestige shoppers are paying closer attention to treatment claims, ingredients, and long term hair health.
