Prose, the global leader in AI-powered custom hair and skin care, has opened the doors to its brand-new West Coast Customization Center in Commerce, California. The 43,000-square-foot facility officially launched on June 5, 2025, marking Prose’s first expansion outside New York and a bold step to meet surging demand from customers across the U.S. and Canada.
A Celebration of Innovation, Growth, and Sustainability
The new Commerce Center is a $9 million investment, mirroring the advanced automation and AI-driven personalization of Prose’s flagship Brooklyn site. Powered by the proprietary Singular platform, the facility is designed to boost production capacity for made-to-order haircare, skincare, and supplements—delivering on Prose’s promise of beauty tailored to the individual.
“This expansion marks a significant step forward in Prose’s evolution, enabling us to meet growing demand from customers across the U.S. and Canada. We look forward to leveraging this new state-of-the-art customization center to further drive personalized beauty solutions and set a new standard for the industry,” said Arnaud Plas, CEO and Co-Founder of Prose.
Inside the Customization Center
The Los Angeles area was chosen for its proximity to West Coast customers, enabling Prose to reduce shipping times for nearly half of its clientele and to support the brand’s 29% year-over-year growth and $165 million in revenue for 2024.
"The Los Angeles area was the ideal choice for our new customization center due to its proximity to our West Coast customers," said Anthony Perdigao, Prose COO. "By strategically positioning our operations in Southern California, we are significantly reducing shipping times for nearly 50% of customers, enhancing our ability to deliver customized beauty solutions quickly and efficiently."
"Our new customization center represents our dedication to sustainable and responsible manufacturing," said Helen Nwosu, VP of Social Impact. "We are proud to leverage cutting-edge technology and strategic planning to minimize carbon impact and reduce our overall environmental footprint while maintaining the highest quality in our products."
Sustainability at the Core
Sustainability is woven into every detail of the new center. The facility is expected to cut downstream shipping emissions by 50%, saving over 1,000 metric tons of CO₂ annually. Energy-efficient lighting, optimized water use, and renewable energy equipment are all part of the design, while the automated customization system minimizes waste through scalable, made-to-order manufacturing.
Prose’s West Coast Customization Center is more than a production hub—it’s a dynamic, tech-forward space that redefines what it means to deliver beauty, sustainability, and innovation to a new generation of customers.
