KISS Colors & Care Launch New Styling Collection

KISS Colors & Care announces newest brand partner as JT also known as "Jatavia Shakara Johnson," a well-known artist who rose to fame as one half of the hip-hop duo City Girls. In a statement by KISS Colors & Care, "JT is a longtime fan of the KISS brand and a trendsetter herself, JT is the perfect celebrity to align with the ethos of the brand message and belief – Your Hair, Your Style."

SVP of Global Marketing Annette DeVita-Goldstein said, "JT is the epitome of confidence and self-expression. Because KISS Colors and Care celebrates creativity and style versatility, we could not think of a more iconic brand partner to represent the brand and its philosophy. We're thrilled to have JT as our celebrity partner - she continues to be a disruptive force in the music, fashion, and beauty industries. She is bold and embraces new hair looks with confidence and authenticity, which aligns perfectly with our new styling collection."

JT's love for different hairstyles has kept her a pro at switching up her look and vibe. Her passion for braids, stunning updos, and gorgeous locks make her the perfect advocate for the new KISS Colors & Care styling products.

"I've always been the girl who was creative with her hair and looks. I'm not afraid to try different styles and different colors that are trendsetting. I love having options that cater to my texture and creativity, so being the face of KISS Colors and Care was the perfect collaboration. Let's Be Bold!" says JT.

We asked Jeff Durham, CEO of GIMME Beauty for insight on why brand ambassadors are necessary in the hair care space and his thoughts on working with celebrities and social media influencers.

"The outlook continues to be optimistic for 2023 with these key partnerships, but they are only as effective as the time and personal investment put into them. The next level of brand collaboration that we predict is leaning into  exclusive products and custom launches, much like what Kiss Colors & Care has done with JT from City Girls," he continued. "Our brand has worked with hundreds of brand ambassadors over the last 4 years and they have really helped to put the brand on the map. Retailers like ULTA and Target brought the brand into full distribution nation-wide based on the brand's momentum, which is highly driven by ambassador/celebrity collaborations. The end game is to create personal, mutually beneficial relationships with these celebrities/ambassadors to hit goals and build our brands together," said Durham.
