Bloomingdale’s, the iconic American luxury department store chain, has announced its expansion to the West Coast with a new “Bloomie’s” store set to open in Seattle, Washington on November 2, 2023. The store will be located within the University Village shopping center, marking the brand’s first physical presence in the market.
The Bloomie’s concept, which debuted in 2021, is a smaller format store that offers a casual, contemporary, and highly curated shopping experience. This Seattle location will be the third of its kind, following successful launches in Fairfax, Virginia, and Skokie, Illinois.
Spanning 19,000 square feet across two floors, the new Bloomie’s store promises to embody Bloomingdale’s ethos, offering a robust selection of brands and services. The store’s design emphasizes flexibility, allowing it to adapt and cater to the specific needs of the local Seattle customer while maintaining a contemporary, edited mix that balances casual, trend, and function.

will curate men’s and women’s fashion tailored to local nuances in brand mix and product categories. Shoppers can expect a range of on-trend ready-to-wear and accessory brands such as Veronica Beard, Rag & Bone, Polo, MZ Wallace, and Alo Yoga.
An expansive shoe section will showcase brands like Birkenstock, ON, and Vince, while coveted beauty brands such as Byredo, Augustinus Bader, and Maison Francis Kurkdjian will also be available.
In line with Bloomie’s ethos, the store will dedicate space for rotating pop-ups and trends, with assortments thoughtfully selected for each location. The Seattle community will have exclusive access to Sandro, Maje, and James Perse, making Bloomie’s the only distribution point for these brands in Seattle.
