Amazon Launches Amazon Business in Mexico

Amazon Business officially announced it is bringing its procurement services to Mexico, making it the 10th country where Amazon Business is available. This follows availability in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Japan, Germany, France, Italy, India, and Spain.

Mexico represents a significant growth opportunity for Amazon, with over 5 million small and medium-sized businesses that could benefit from Amazon Business's procurement tools and expertise. Mexico is one of Amazon's fastest growing international markets.

"We are excited to allow businesses in Mexico to simplify their supply process so that they can focus on what is most important to them. We are also committed to the growth of small businesses by allowing sellers - through our B2B store - to expand and grow by selling directly to large companies," said Pedro Huerta, Country Manager Amazon Mexico.

Amazon first entered the Mexico retail market in 2015 with the launch of Amazon.com.mx. Since then, the company has continued expanding, now operating about 40 warehouses across Mexico and employing over 8,000 people directly. These sellers also benefit from Amazon's e-commerce experience, gaining visibility of their full product catalog in an established online store and with greater access to business customer decision makers to help increase sales.

This new B2B store is especially important because Amazon Mexico has almost 18,000 national sellers, 99% of which are small and medium-sized companies with more than 3 million products listed and generate more than 57,000 direct and indirect jobs.. Businesses in Mexico will be able to take advantage of features like bulk purchasing, spend analytics, procurement system integration, and access to a wide selection of suppliers - helping them save time and money.

The expansion of Amazon Business into Mexico aligns with Amazon's broader strategy of extending its reach in the country. In addition to Amazon Business, Amazon Web Services also recently announced plans to open a new infrastructure region in Mexico by early 2025.
