Dior Opens House of Dior Shinsaibashi in Osaka With Sou Fujimoto’s Draped Façade

Dior has officially opened the House of Dior Shinsaibashi in Osaka, a four floor flagship that fuses a couture inspired façade by Sou Fujimoto, luminous interiors by Peter Marino, contemporary art and a Monsieur Dior restaurant led by Michelin starred chef Anne Sophie Pic. The new Maison, which welcomed its first guests on 21 May 2026, cements Dior’s long standing dialogue with Japan while showcasing the first collections by creative director Jonathan Anderson in a fully immersive setting.

Architecture: a draped landmark in Shinsaibashi

Located at 1 9 17 Shinsaibashisuji, Chūō ku, Osaka, on the main Shinsaibashi suji shopping artery, the House of Dior occupies a stand alone building designed by Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto. The façade is a striking, undulating composition of layered, translucent panels that evoke the fluid drape of Christian Dior’s haute couture dresses, turning the structure into a kind of sculpted fabric frozen in motion.

Inside, the four story interior architecture has been conceived by Peter Marino, whose design opens with double height volumes and then unfolds as a series of luminous salons. Natural light, mirrored surfaces and carefully curated materials guide visitors upwards, echoing the “kingdom of dreams” concept that positions the store as far more than a traditional boutique.

Four floors of fashion, leather goods, art and a vertical garden

Across its four luminous floors, House of Dior Shinsaibashi brings together:

  • Women’s and men’s ready to wear, including Jonathan Anderson’sdebut collections for Dior, which weave floral motifs, nature and art historical references into a contemporary vision.
  • Leather goods, shoes, accessories and sunglasses, alongside dedicated spaces for fragranceand beauty.
  • Contemporary art installationsand a sculptural vertical garden that introduces a lush, green counterpoint to the polished interiors, conceived as a homage to Christian Dior’s legendary love of gardens.

Media describe the store as a “dreamlike world” where architecture, fashion and art are staged together, with the vertical garden offering a moment of oasis in the middle of Osaka’s dense urban fabric.

Monsieur Dior: Anne Sophie Pic’s first restaurant in Japan

Crowning the building is Monsieur Dior, the first Monsieur Dior restaurant in Japan, located on the top floor. The restaurant is helmed by Anne Sophie Pic, the French chef with the most Michelin stars in the world, who has created a menu inspired by Dior’s iconic symbols and by gardens.

Descriptions of the concept highlight:

  • garden inspired dining experiencethat nods to Dior’s floral codes and to the vertical greenery within the store.
  • A cuisine that blends French haute gastronomy with subtle Japanese influences, designed as an extension of the Maison’s refined, sensory world.

With Monsieur Dior, the flagship completes its transformation into a holistic destination where guests can move from fashion to fragrance to fine dining without leaving the Dior universe.

A collaborative project and a new chapter in Japan

The opening message rightly credits the cross functional team behind the project, including Gigi Baini, Romina Sanchez, Laura Arisi and Shotaro Kojima, alongside many other Dior colleagues in architecture, construction, design, retail and operations who turned years of planning into a finished Maison.

House of Dior Shinsaibashi also reflects Dior’s broader strategy in Japan, which has included experimental installations like the Dior Bamboo Pavilion in Tokyo and major flagships in Tokyo and Beijing, all designed to test new dialogues between architecture, nature and couture. Osaka now joins that network as a western Japan anchor where art, nature and fashion converge under Jonathan Anderson’s new creative direction.

Guests visiting from 21 May are invited into a space where Dior’s heritage is unmistakable but expressed through contemporary Japanese architecture, living greenery and gastronomy a tangible expression of “Dior’s dream” made specific to Osaka.
