IKEA opening three new Plan and order points in Canada

IKEA Canada announced three new Plan and order points across Canada. These specialized locations are designed to offer customers a more personalized planning experience for complex home furnishing projects, such as kitchen or bedroom storage solutions. The first of these innovative points will open its doors in London, Ontario, at the Wonderland Power Centre on March 6, 2024. Shortly after, on March 20, the Lachenaie Plan and order point will welcome customers in Quebec, situated within the Galeries de Lanaudière shopping centre.

"Our recent IKEA Life at Home report has shown that up to 50 per cent of Canadians are looking to either move or renovate their homes in the next two years, and we want to support them by providing affordable and inspiring home furnishing solutions that meet the evolving needs of their homes," said Inna Romagnoli, Country Business Development and Transformation Manager, IKEA Canada. "We're excited to bring an elevated planning experience to our London and Lachenaie neighbours and help them take the guess work out of planning the space of their dreams."

The expansion doesn't stop there; during the summer of 2024, IKEA will also establish a Plan and order point in Barrie, Ontario, located at the SmartCentres Barrie South shopping centre. This move signifies IKEA's commitment to making design-centric services more accessible to Canadians, aligning with the company's long-standing dedication to creating affordable and beautiful homes. Notably, the Barrie location will be a relocation from its previous spot at the Georgian Mall, marking a continued investment in the region.

These Plan and order points differ from traditional IKEA stores in that they do not carry products for immediate takeaway. Instead, customers can collaborate with IKEA planners to design their living spaces and have the selected products delivered directly to their homes. This service model caters to the evolving needs of consumers, many of whom are looking to move or renovate their homes within the next two years.

In response to the rising cost-of-living crisis, IKEA has also announced an $80 million investment aimed at reducing prices on over a thousand products throughout 2024, further demonstrating the brand's commitment to affordability. With 16 stores already established across Canada and several Planning and Design Studios, IKEA continues to grow its footprint, ensuring that customers have access to its unique range of home furnishing solutions.
