The brand aims to be a collaborative space where creative individuals can work with expert tailors, pattern makers, and artisans from around the world. of a movement to cultivate more self-expression.” In an open letter on the brand’s website, Jolie expressed her appreciation for the many tailors and makers she has worked with over the years and her desire to make use of high-quality vintage materials and deadstock fabric.
The brand will also offer apprenticeships for refugees and other underappreciated groups, providing positions of dignity based on skill. Atelier Jolie will allow customers to take on the role of designer, collaborating with a global network of professionals to create clothing using sustainable materials and fair labor practices.
The brand will also provide an inclusive online resource for finding garment makers who can work with the existing team. Customers will have the opportunity to repair or upcycle pieces from their closets, breathing new life into what could have been discarded and creating quality heirloom garments with personal meaning.
