Bloomingdale’s Opens a New Outlet Store at Serramonte Center in Daly City

The store is at 151B Serramonte Center. The retailer’s opening-day invitation promoted shopping from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pacific time, while the Daly City Colma Chamber of Commerce listed the October 23 grand opening and ribbon cutting.

An outlet-format addition to the Bay Area The distinction between an outlet and a full-line department store matters to the retail story. Bloomingdale’s is presenting this location around designer names and value, giving the business another physical route to customers seeking that combination.

Serramonte’s owner, Regency Centers, lists Bloomingdale’s Outlet among a broad set of retail tenants that also includes Macy’s, Nordstrom Rack, Target and Uniqlo.

That places the opening within an established multiformat shopping destination, where shoppers can encounter department-store, outlet and other retail offers during the same visit. For Bloomingdale’s, the concrete expansion is a new outlet-format address in Daly City.
