PrettyLittleThing announces a new return fee policy to manage rising return costs. This change represents a significant shift in the company’s approach to reverse logistics and aligns it with a broader industry trend toward fee-based returns. While this may surprise many of PLT’s loyal customers, particularly within its core demographic of 16-25-year-old females, introducing a £1.99 fee is expected to help the company recoup some of the inherent costs associated with returns.

Why Return Fees?

The concept of return fees isn’t new in the retail industry. Online retailers typically impose these charges to cover expenses related to return shipping, inspection, and sometimes refurbishing returned items for resale. PLT’s return fee is £1.99 for UK customers using the returns portal. Customers who opt not to use the portal are responsible for the full return cost. This new policy also extends to the United States, where customers will incur a charge of $6.00 per return item.
