Kering has opened the first academic year of its Accademia per le Eccellenze, moving the Italian craft training initiative from its spring unveiling into operation. More than 1,500 students are enrolled in over 40 educational programs across six Italian regions, according to the luxury group. The scale makes the launch a workforce-development move as much as a cultural one: Kering is building a shared training network for the specialist skills behind its houses’ products.
