Hermès Turned Dormant Materials Into a Skateboard, Swing and Surfboard For Petit H Workshop

Under the artistic direction of Godefroy de Virieu, petit h gives new life to materials that might otherwise remain unused. Leather, silk, porcelain, crystal and other remnants from Hermès workshops become the starting point for unexpected objects. The process does not begin with a fixed design.

Instead, each creation emerges from the qualities, shapes and possibilities of the material itself. This approach gives petit h its distinctive character. A wicker basket can become a skateboard. A swing can be dressed with multicoloured leather fringes.

Silk can be transformed into poetic objects inspired by clouds, dreams and imaginary worlds. The result is a collection where function, humour and craftsmanship are allowed to meet in unusual ways. The petit h workshop was founded in 2010 by Pascale Mussard, a sixth generation member of the Hermès family.

Its philosophy is rooted in re creation and reinvention, offering a more playful expression of the Maison’s long-standing commitment to material knowledge and skilled craftsmanship.
