Hermès Opens its Second Sydney Store at Chatswood Chase
Hermès is expanding its footprint in Sydney with a second store at Chatswood Chase, a boutique conceived as an homage to Australia’s natural environment and coastal landscapes. The new space showcases the house’s sixteen métiers, bringing everything from silk and leather goods to jewellery and homeware together under one roof in a setting that feels both refined and warmly inviting.
The store’s design draws directly from the local surroundings. A transparent façade framed by light gold-metallic cladding opens into interiors inspired by Sydney’s landscapes and coastal rivers, creating a visual connection between the mall and the boutique. Inside, soft colours, flowing structures, watercolour effect walls and sandstone textures echo the region’s geology and waterways, resulting in an atmosphere that feels bathed in light and rooted in place. Paris-based architecture agency long associated with Hermès, the layout is conceived to showcase the full breadth of the house’s craftsmanship. Each métier is given space within a cohesive architectural narrative, guiding visitors from silk and fashion jewellery to leather goods, watches, beauty and home pieces.
Natural materials, gentle palettes and tactile finishes are used throughout to create a contemporary interior that still feels timeless, aligning with Hermès’ broader design language across its global network. Art plays a central role in the new boutique.
Bathed in natural light, the store is home to Worlds Beyond, an artwork by London-based artist Katie Scott. The piece draws on Hermès’ 2026 annual theme Venture Beyond, imagining dreamlike botanical and celestial scenes that invite viewers to think about exploration, imagination and the worlds that lie just past the horizon.
