MKI MIYUKI ZOKU Brings Brushed Metal, Frosted Acrylic to its New Retail Installation
Created in partnership with Scratch Creative, the new MKI MIYUKI ZOKU installation at Selfridges on Oxford Street was developed from initial concept through to fabrication and final installation. The project brings the brand’s refined, minimalist identity into a physical environment that feels calm, precise and quietly distinctive.
The space is defined by a considered material palette of brushed metal, frosted acrylic and diffused light. These industrial finishes establish a clean architectural framework, while suspended foliage behind translucent surfaces introduces depth and softened organic silhouettes. The contrast between exposed structure and blurred natural forms creates a subtle tension, giving the installation a sense of stillness without making it feel flat.
At the centre of the space, a monolithic display table provides a strong focal point for the collection. Its solid form anchors the room, while a bespoke tonal rug adds warmth and tactility to the sharper material language. Together, the elements…
move the environment away from pure industrial minimalism and towards something more inviting, where products can be discovered at a slower, more considered pace. The installation is designed to frame the MKI MIYUKI ZOKU collection rather than compete with it.
Every finish, volume and lighting decision supports the brand’s understated identity, creating an environment where elevated everyday menswear feels at home. For Selfridges, it is another example of how a focused retail installation can give a brand its own world inside a larger department-store setting.
With full design, fabrication and installation delivered by Scratch Creative, the project shows how material restraint and careful spatial storytelling can turn a compact retail footprint into a complete brand experience.
