Aritzia’s Back-to-School Vancouver Warehouse Sale Gives 800 Gift Cards and 40 First-Job Opportunities

The Community Shop has run for five years and gives young women and girls a shopping experience funded by the retailer. This year’s initiative used the warehouse sale as the setting for participants to choose clothing ahead of the school year, with partner organizations helping deliver the program.

Shopping Support and Workplace Experience Aritzia says the 40 team placements provided first-job opportunities and practical workplace experience. By connecting those placements to the warehouse sale, the program brought employment experience into the same retail event used to deliver shopping support.

The company also donated all unsold product directly to its partner organizations. That extended the program beyond gift-card recipients, linking the sale’s remaining merchandise to its community partners rather than treating product donations as a separate initiative.
