MATIERE PREMIERE Opens Permanent Counter at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York

The brand credited Saks and its distribution partner Europerfumes in announcing the installation. Co-founder Caius von Knorring called it “our permanent fixture in New York” and thanked Saks for its trust and Europerfumes for the partnership.

For the niche fragrance house, a dedicated counter creates a consistent space for discovery in a competitive beauty floor, rather than relying solely on short-duration activations. The move follows MATIERE PREMIERE’s wider retail buildout.

The company recently announced a Shanghai flagship and has stores in Paris, Berlin and London. The Saks counter is a different format from those stand-alone locations: it uses a department-store setting and the retailer’s existing fragrance traffic to introduce shoppers to the range.

Metal Lavender, created by founder and perfumer Aurélien Guichard, is built around lavandin grown by the house in Grasse and organic lavender from Haute Provence.
