Hermès Expands Its Geneva Flagship Ahead of November 7 Reopening

Hermès opened its first store outside France in Switzerland in 1947. Its Geneva location moved in 2011 into the listed modernist building designed by Swiss architect Marc-Joseph Saugey. The latest investment expands that existing address, adding depth to its presence in the city rather than introducing a new market.

Paris-based architecture firm RDAI designed the interiors around Geneva’s lake, mountains and skies.

According to the company’s announcement, the store includes distinct areas for silk, home, perfume and beauty, menswear, jewellery, watches, leather goods, equestrian products, and women’s ready-to-wear and shoes, alongside a dedicated private space. That breadth gives the expansion a commercial role beyond the handbag business.

The layout provides a setting for customers to move between product categories, while the private space adds a separate environment for client visits.
