Balmain Introduces Sphynx Bag in Pony-Effect Leather for Fall-Winter 2026

Balmain has introduced the Sphynx bag in pony-effect leather as part of its Fall-Winter 2026 women’s collection. The campaign still life by Antonin Tron highlights the bag’s softer texture and the design reminds sculptural shape of the Sphynx.

The bag takes inspiration from the Sphinge dress created by Pierre Balmain for the Fall-Winter 1977 collection. Balmain describes the Sphynx as a key part of the collection’s silhouettes, rather than simply an accessory added to complete a look. This design has a shape with draping and an hourglass contour.

A sliding draw-cord with leather loops helps shape the bag with a decorative metal piece engraved with “Balmain Paris” adds a signature detail. The pony-effect version is made from calf leather and finished to give it the appearance of pony hair.

It comes with an adjustable leather strap and can be carried by hand or worn over the shoulder. The bag also has a satin lining, an inner card holder and gold-tone metal hardware. Balmain offers the Sphynx in both medium and mini sizes, with several finishes available across the collection…
