Prestige skincare brand BeautyStat is making headlines for its expansion into luxury retailers such as Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Moda Operandi, and Macy’s. Founded and formulated by longtime cosmetic chemist Ron Robinson, BeautyStat stands out for “patented, potent, proven skincare” rooted in “high-performance actives with results backed by science”.
The Vision: Chemistry and Consumer Trust
Before becoming a top indie brand, Ron Robinson spent decades in labs at Estée Lauder, Avon, and Lancôme. In his words, “Back when I started, it wasn’t something that I knew existed or that I was intending to become,” he told Essence. He launched BeautyStat in 2009 as a consumer education platform, then set out to address a major pain point: unstable vitamin C. “Unstable Vitamin C would oxidize and start to smell like hot dog water,” Robinson explained. Five years of self-funded independent research led him to a breakthrough: “I achieved what major corporations…
with massive R&D budgets couldn’t—a perfectly stable Vitamin C formulation”. The result was the Universal C Skin Refiner, a cult product praised for visibly improving hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, and fine lines—without oxidizing.
Robinson continues, “When I was able to launch this product and launch the brand five years ago, it really hit a chord with consumers… We developed this cult following.
Consumers love the results.” The 2025 Rebrand and Retail Rollout This year, BeautyStat unveiled a full rebrand, complete with new packaging, a new campaign, and, most importantly, an overhaul of the formula of their Vitamin C products.
