Dior Adds Mini Size to Its Cigale Bag, Inspired by a 1952 Couture Dress

Dior has introduced a mini version of its Cigale bag, expanding a style that first appeared on the Spring-Summer 2026 runway.

The Cigale takes its name and shape from La Cigale, a dress created by Christian Dior for the house’s “Autumn-Winter 1952-53 haute couture collection.” Current creative director Jonathan Anderson built the bag around that dress’s fitted structure that’s translating its architecture into leather.

The design carries a signature leather bow at the center front, with metal eyelets finished in silver or gold-tone hardware bearing the Dior signature. The bag is made from supple calfskin with a lambskin lining and closes with a magnetic flap.

It includes a leather handle along with an adjustable, removable shoulder strap, letting it be carried by hand, on the shoulder or crossbody. A front slip pocket and an interior zip pocket round out the storage, and the bag ships with a dust bag…
