Gap Inc. has appointed Forerunner founder Kirsten Green to its board, effective immediately, adding consumer-investment experience as the apparel group expands into beauty and accessories.

Green founded the venture firm in 2012. It has raised nearly $3 billion and backed more than 100 companies, including Warby Parker, Dollar Shave Club, OURA and wholesale marketplace Faire. Gap Inc. board chair Mayo A.

Shattuck III said: “Her experience partnering with businesses as they evolve and scale will add an important dimension to our Board.” Her appointment is a governance change, not a new operating role. Gap said her perspective will support efforts to grow its brands and identify further business opportunities.

The group operates Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic and Athleta across company-owned stores, franchises and e-commerce. The announcement connects Green’s arrival to its ongoing transformation, but does not outline a separate investment mandate or new acquisition plan.
