How Meta AI Restyle Makes Every Instagram Story Uniquely Yours

Meta has introduced a significant update to Instagram Stories, officially launching the “Restyle” feature powered by Meta AI. This tool enables users to transform their photos and videos with new ease, using natural language prompts and curated effects directly within the app. The upgrade shows Meta’s focus on responsible innovation, user control, and transparency, providing practical benefits without speculative claims or unsupported projections.

What Restyle Offers: Practical AI Editing for All Restyle introduces new flexibility to editing Instagram Stories. The feature can be accessed via the brush icon with a star on the Stories editor.

By typing a short prompt—such as “turn the background into a sunset,” “add more plants,” or “change jacket to red”—users see automated, AI-powered changes in real time, while original details are preserved where possible.

The “add,” “remove,” and “change” prompts allow for targeted adjustments to objects, appearances, and backgrounds, supporting both aesthetic and practical use cases. This functionality enables users to adapt their visual content efficiently and intuitively, without needing specialized editing skills.
