JD Sports Reopens La Maquinista in Spain with Plans To Open 138 Spanish Locations by Early 2027

The store first opened at Westfield La Maquinista in 2015, when the project marked an ambitious step for JD Sports in Barcelona. More than a decade later, the location has grown into one of the retailer’s flagship spaces, supported by repeat investment in product range, store design and customer experience.

The most recent refurbishment is the store’s third. It gives JD Sports a larger and more updated selling environment, designed to better serve customers shopping for sneakers, sportswear and streetwear.

The new space offers a broader product selection and a layout intended to make discovery easier across footwear, apparel and accessories. Located at Carrer de Potosí 2 in Barcelona’s Sant Andreu district, Westfield La Maquinista is one of the city’s key retail destinations.
