Max Mara Reopens Munich Store as Its Second Largest Globally

In its official announcement, Max Mara said the store was conceived by duccio grassi architects, with a design inspired by the brand’s historic headquarters in Reggio Emilia. That building opened in 1958 and now houses Collezione Maramotti.

A Three-Level Store With an Architectural Link to Its Origins The brand’s photographs show a corner facade with illuminated Max Mara signage, a curved staircase, and interiors combining clothing rails, seating areas and dedicated accessories displays.

Warm-toned fixtures and pale surfaces frame the merchandise, while the staircase provides a visual connection between the store’s levels. Max Mara positions the project around the relationship between innovation and tradition.

Its reference to the Reggio Emilia headquarters gives the Munich design a specific connection to the house’s history, rather than treating the reopening solely as an increase in selling space…
