Stone Island Turns Selfridges’ Corner Shop Into a Rotating Collector Archive

According to Stone Island’s project programme, this is its first formal collaboration with independent collectors who have preserved and interpreted its work over four decades.

The weekly rotation gives the brand a reason to refresh both the merchandise and the stories behind it, instead of treating the takeover as a static exhibition. A retail space built to change Willo Perron designed the Corner Shop as a reconfigurable system of soft structures and modular components.

Stone Island says the layout will change as different collectors and garments move through the installation. Arco Maher, Better Gift Shop, ‘bout, 194 Local, Metallic Curtain, Pezze and others are among the participants named in the programme.

The schedule moves from Stone Island Ghost and mainline pieces in its opening week to denim research, material exploration, wool and the Ice Jacket. That progression gives visitors a product-focused way to encounter the archive while keeping current and exclusive items available to shop…
