Shapermint to Pay $475K After Lawsuit Over Fake Online Discounts

In a significant resolution for online shoppers, Shapermint has agreed to pay $475,000 to settle a class action lawsuit that accused the company of deceptively advertising discounts on its website. Shapermint is looking to pay $475,000 as part of a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve false claims advertising discounts on the website.

Allegations of Deceptive Discounts The lawsuit focused on claims that Shapermint, an online retailer known for selling shapewear, bras, underwear, leggings, bodysuits, and other products, routinely featured false “sale” prices.

The company would list a false “sale” price for products that was significantly higher than the actual price products were sold. These practices meant shoppers believed they were receiving substantial discounts off the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) when they were actually paying the product’s regular price.

Who Benefits? The Shapermint class action settlement benefits customers who have bought one or more “Shapermint Essentials,” “Empetua,” and “Truekind” branded shapewear products from shapermint.com between April 19, 2020, and May 21, 2025, at a discounted price below the listed MSRP.

This broad range includes popular product lines often purchased for family and household use. Eligible class members are primarily California residents who made qualifying purchases during this period, although all those who purchased through shapermint.com under the defined terms may be impacted…
