LOEWE is turning Madrid into a lens on intimacy and performance this summer with “Bunny”, the first institutional solo exhibition in Spain by American photographer Talia Chetrit, presented for PHotoESPAÑA 2026.
LOEWE brings Talia Chetrit to PHotoESPAÑA 2026
On the occasion of PHotoESPAÑA 2026, LOEWE and the LOEWE FOUNDATION are presenting “Bunny” at the Museo Lázaro Galdiano in Madrid, curated by Stella Bottai. The show marks Chetrit’s first institutional solo exhibition in Spain, and coincides with the 15th year of the LOEWE FOUNDATION’s support of PHotoESPAÑA, the country’s leading photography festival.
Opening in early June 2026, the exhibition is part of the official PHotoESPAÑA 2026 programme and positions LOEWE once again at the intersection of fashion, contemporary image making and cultural patronage in Madrid.
Three decades of images in “Bunny”
In “Bunny”, Talia Chetrit brings together a selection of older and recent works that spans almost 30 years of image…
making, many of them drawn from her own archives. The exhibition includes self portraits, family scenes, still lifes and closely framed studies of the body, assembled to create an intimate yet staged visual universe.
Moving between portraiture, tableaux and still life, Chetrit’s photographs explore themes such as youth, eroticism, identity, family relationships and motherhood, often using theatrical setups that blur the line between documentation and performance.
Viewers are invited to question whether what they see is private reality or carefully constructed fiction, a tension that runs throughout her practice.
