Balenciaga’s Spring 27 Unsized A Lightness Of Being Collection That Redefines Silhouette at 10 Avenue George V

Designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli, the season proposes a new, feather light approach to Balenciaga’s couture identity, where garments are drawn around the body and freed from rigid sizing.
Unsized: the body as the starting point
The collection is built around the philosophical concept of “unsized” clothing: instead of imposing fixed forms, pieces are drawn around the human body and adjusted through ribbons of cloth, echoing Cristóbal Balenciaga’s belief that the body is the base for creation. Silhouette becomes a light architecture, shifting with movement and relying on the ebb and flow of minimized layers of fabric against the body rather than on strict tailoring.

A lightness of being, engineered To achieve this “lightness of being,” Balenciaga employs advanced fabric development, notably an innovative featherweight techno taffeta used across a complete wardrobe of Balenciaga archetypes.
Garments in double cashmere, kid mohair, poplin and various denim washes are deliberately lightened so that entire ensembles weigh less than a kilogram, even when layered. Silhouettes are subtle and reduced, their architecture defined by the way cloth interacts with the body rather than by heavy internal structures.
