Shakira’s Custom Roberto Cavalli Halftime Look at The FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Took More Than 120 Hours in Making

Shakira lit up the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Final Halftime Show at the New York New Jersey Stadium in a Custom Roberto Cavalli look by Fausto Puglisi, entirely hand embroidered with more than 200,000 Swarovski crystals and built around a new, sunset inspired reinterpretation of one of the house’s signature prints.

A World Cup full-circle moment with Cavalli

For the 2026 final, Shakira reunited with Roberto Cavalli, echoing her headline making Cavalli looks from the 2010 World Cup while debuting a new custom design for this inaugural halftime show. The performance part of a multi artist line up at the Spain vs Argentina final saw her take the stage with “Dai Dai,” a song whose proceeds support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, tying fashion spectacle to a philanthropic dimension.

Cavalli and creative director Fausto Puglisi describe the look as a way of “reimagining the house’s iconic Ray of Gold…

motif” for a global stadium moment, channeling sun, movement and jewel like light. Ray of Sunset: print and palette The custom outfit features an exclusive Ray of Sunset print, developed specifically for Shakira.

The print: Draws inspiration from Roberto Cavalli’s Ray of Gold motif a sunray based design used across swimwear and resort pieces here translated into golden hour hues. Layers vibrant pink accents over orange, yellow and citrine tones, creating a luminous gradient that reads as sunset on fabric and amplifies stage lighting.

In motion, the print and embellishment work together to create a radiating effect, making Shakira appear almost backlit by her own costume as she moves.
