Acne Studios Aoyama Welcomes Nine Sculptural Rooftop Residents by Apollinaria Broche
Acne Studios Aoyama has welcomed a new group of residents to its rooftop in Tokyo. Created by artist Apollinaria Broche, the large scale installation brings nine sculptural characters to the flagship store, celebrating its first anniversary through art, imagination and a distinctly offbeat point of view.
The collaboration transforms the rooftop of Acne Studios Aoyama into a small fictional universe. The characters appear as whimsical ceramic inspired figures, each with its own personality, shape and story. Rather than acting as conventional retail decoration, the sculptures create a moment of surprise for visitors who look beyond the store’s fashion displays and discover the rooftop world above.

the Aoyama flagship. Among the figures are Suisui, a three legged horse, Emru, a sleepy white bunny, Daisy, a cat dreaming of becoming one with flowers, and Bimbi, a young deer standing on its hind legs. These characters are not designed to be perfect or polished in a conventional sense.
Their charm comes from their individuality, expressive details and slightly surreal personalities. The installation is presented on the rooftop of the flagship at 5-3-2 Minami-Aoyama in Minato, Tokyo. It is a location that gives the project a sense of discovery.
The sculptures are not immediately visible from every part of the store, encouraging visitors to engage with the space in a more curious and exploratory way. For Acne Studios, this kind of intervention is closely connected to its approach to retail.
